AWOL, DESERTION PROCEDURE AND SPECIMEN CHARGES

AWOL procedure and Desertion procedure are like two branches of one stem of a big tree. The procedure for investigating these offences are basically the same. AWOL however is one of the commonest offences in Nigerian Military. Both offences are characterized by one most vital ingredient which is abandonment of a service personnel’s duty or unit without authority to do so. The procedure* for investigating both offences commences with an administrative action of issuing an absentee report.
