OFFENSES OF INSUBORDINATION AND SPECIMEN CHARGES

The offence of Insubordinate behavior is provided under section 54 of the Armed Forces Act (AFA) Cap A20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN) 2004. Discipline is the bedrock of every Army in the world, without discipline, there will be no Army. The offence of insubordination is one of the major legal instruments used by the armed forces to ensure the maintenance of discipline and punish those that are indisciplined. A sound knowledge of how the offence of insubordination can be committed will no doubt assist a unit in checking the acts of indiscipline of soldiers.
